Dr. ANDREW GEMINO

Dr. Andrew Gemino has over a decade of experience in the information technology (IT) industry as a computing professional, consultant and academic. An Associate Dean and Professor of management information systems who has won many teaching awards, his academic research focuses on IT project management, the communication of business-systems requirements and the design and use of technology-mediated collaborative environments.

Andrew's current research seeks to improve IT project outcomes through improved communication of project scope. On the PM Perspectives team, his research projects include measurement of project performance, the measurement of factors influencing project success, and the evolving role of the project and program manager.

Outside of academia, Andrew is a project-management consultant and also the co-founder of a software company that develops commercial software for professional sports teams in the NHL and NBA, as well as automated employee scheduling for sports and entertainment companies.

Andrew also provides his expertise to the Surgeon Information System Working Group for B.C.'s Provincial Surgical Oncology Council which is affiliated with the B.C. Cancer Agency.

An accomplished bass and piano player, Andrew played for many years in a local rock and roll band and still enjoys playing and recording music.
